Anthe

Eridanus No. 11

This piece draws inspiration from planetary systems. Most are not within our sight, yet they span a vast area, and even greater is their distance from us. Amid the depths of emptiness, a moon of Saturn was discovered in 2007. Named Anthe, it is observed in a perpetual dance with other moons. Together, circling Saturn, these siblings-like moons exert a strong influence on each other, causing continuous changes in them. They have numerous locations with the strongest and weakest influences among the parts, as enacted in this piece. It is best performed by an equal 8-part choir of piccolos, flutes, bass flutes and contrabass flutes.
